Just like Madicken & Lisa

The sweet Teresa from Sal & Pimenta send the girls some adorable dresses. As we just read Madicken ( like I´ve told you a hundred times… sorry) the girls have been role playing Madicken and her little sister Lisa a lot. These dresses were very warmly welcomed by the girls as they are a lot like the outfits those girls have on them on the Madicken films ( that we also love). I thought these are also great for the first day of pre-school and for Bubble Gum for her first day in the new bigger girls group in nursery. Cotton Candy´s is actual the same model they had for our Noel a Paris and Bubble Gum has a gorgeous dress with a peter pan collar and an apron. The dress is super pretty on it´s own but the apron makes it lovely and old fashioned.

I recently found out there is a word ( made up) for people who love rain.
Pluviophile
(n). A lover of rain;
someone who finds
joy and peace of mind
during rainy days.
I´m definitely a pluviophile! And to make kids in to pluviophile´s too I wanted to share a few of my favourite wellies with you. We have raspberry pink, pale pink and yellow rain gear so we have opted for colours to go with those but I love all of these below…
Onko sinulla suosikkimerkkiä kumisaappaissa? Meillä on ollut Hunterit käytössä jo monta vuotta ja ne ovat kyllä kestäneet erinomaisesti käytössä. Tyttöjen sadeasuissa on väreinä keltainen, sekä vaalean- ja vadelmanpunainen, joten tämänhetkiset kumisaappaiden värit valikoituivat niihin sopiviksi. Alla kuitenkin muutama oma suosikki ( ulkonäöllisesti) kumppareista…
Jos voisin jotenkin järkeillä sen, että tytöillä pitäisi olla kumisaappaat myös tummansinisten tikkitakkien tai pitkien punaisten juhlatakkien seuraksi niin hankkisin nämä Jacadin ihanuudet aivan varmasti.// These from Jacadi might be my favourite pair. I love the combination of red and navy and as you know I´m a huge fan of bows too. If I could justify a pair of wellies to go with our navy quilted jackets and little umbrellas I would most definitely get these. But the colours just do not match our rain gear.

What we were up to

Ennen kuin palaan takaisin tavallisten blogimerkintöjen pariin kaupungista, haluaisin jakaa pari kuvaa puhelimestani viimeisiltä muutamalta viikolta. Suurin osa heinäkuusta kului saaressa, mutta silloin tällöin piipahdimme kaupungissa päivän tai kahden ajan tekemässä vähän töitä. Saaressa aamut alkoivat vilpoisalla aamupesulla ja uinnilla meressä. Merivesi ei tänä kesänä oikein missään vaiheessa lämmennyt kovinkaan paljoa, joten aamuherätys oli aina taattu. Saaristokokemukseen kuuluu myös illalliset ulkona ilta-auringossa. Näissä kuvissa kauden ensimmäinen kanttarellikastike joka oli aivan taivaallista! Kun lapset oli laitettu nukkumaan niin söin vaniljajätskiä ja mansikoita sängyssä ja katselin Hercule Poirot elokuvia Yle Areenasta ( voisiko tämä olla se niin sanottu ” quilty pleasure”? ). Saarikokemukseen kuuluu myös silloin tällöin vohvelit aamiaiseksi. Leikimme Marikkia ja Liisaa ja joimme vohveleiden kanssa vielä kaakaotakin. Välillä aamut olivat niin viileitä, että kuuma kaakao aamu-uinnin päälle oli melkeinpä pakollinen. Myös luonnon kukat ja kumisaappaat kuuluivat läheisesti meidän saaristoelämäämme! Olin myös ensimmäistä kertaa saaressa ihan yksin lasten kanssa tänä kesänä muutaman päivän jaksoja. En kyllä päässyt oikein leikkimään Myrskyluodon Maijaa, koska myrskyt olivat kaukana niistä päivistä ja saimme nauttia kesän kauneimmista illoista tanssien kallioilla kolmistaan.
Before I return to my regular posts from our city life I wanted to share some photos from the past weeks from my phone…
We spent the majority of July on the island. Morning swims took the place of taking a morning shower. The water never really warmed up this summer so it was about 18 degrees at best. Talk about a wake up! Eating dinner al fresco, waffles for breakfast and vanilla ice-cream with strawberries for dessert are part of the experience. Bubble Gum´s doll was dressed accordingly for island living too and carried around in the Nina Bobo baby(doll) carrier. Flowers from the nature and wellies were also a big part of our summer. And stripes! So many stripes!
