We had a bit of a birthday party frenzy going on yesterday. I will post more about that on another day. But I thought we´d concentrate on Christmas now as it´s only a few days ahead. I have so many posts in my drafts and so little time. But I´ll just save a few for the days between Christmas and New Year then. I´m hosting the Christmas day dinner in our home this year ( as I most likely mentioned). So I have been planning the table setting for quite some time now. On Friday I shared the tutorial for the easy centrepiece and mentioned I´ll have plenty of votives along our table to give it that magical little twinkling. I´m setting the table with a big white linen tablecloth and white china. The serving ware will be silver and china. For the place “cards” I got some clear glass baubles and I have written everyone´s name on them with a washable pen. I´ll try to remember to share a picture of the whole table setting after Christmas. But for now I´d like to share a few from these baubles as I thought you might want to copy my idea…
I hope you have a fabulous day! Here it´s a bit of a mayhem as the cleaners are doing the Christmas cleaning. I´m just trying to get all the last minute to do´s in order. So I´ll be running around town today with a latte in one hand and a list in the other. But nothing stressful or crazy just pretty things like flowers and some Santa stuff for Bubble Gum who only has made up her mind and decided what she might wish for. As it became clear to her that Santa is not bringing any live mice to our house… No matter how cute and adorable and sweet they are ( honestly I had mice when I was like 9 or 10. They lived in a big pink palace shaped cage. The story did not end that well and I have no idea why I even wanted them in the first place but let´s just say… no mice for Bubble Gum).
Today´s Christmas song. ( that will give you a boost of endorphin just because it is so beautifully performed)
p.s. I´m curious…What is your Christmas present policy? Do your kids get everything on their list for Santa? Or do they even have a long list? We are not big on giving crazy amounts of presents. We would like for the kids to rather just get a few and learn to appreciate those ( I know I´ve shared this subject on previous years too). Cotton Candy asked for a sowing set now that she learned to sow and a 100 piece puzzle. Poor Bubble Gum asked for that ” really cute very real mouse” she is not getting and a swing to our yard which we can not put there as it´s a shared yard of our building and besides has no space for a swing. She will get an old fashioned wood swing to the island that we´ll hang from the trees. But luckily she then decided on wanting something else I will try to find her today. There will be present from grandparents, godparents and uncles too so there will be plenty anyway. But not a crazy amount where they go nuts and just tear the papers off and then bounce on to the next parcel. For next year I already have the present picked. They will get a doll house. A really pretty one with lights and wall paper and where I will put all my old miniature collections in. I really wanted it for this year but realised Bubble Gum is just too small for it still. It would have been too much of a gift for myself really.
