Bye bye February

Eikö olekin ihanaa kun kevät on virallisesti täällä! Helmikuu oli silti oikein hyvä kuukausi. Se piti sisällään laskiaispullia ja Runebergin torttuja, mutta myös paljon vihreitä juomia, tuoreita marjoja ja ihania sitrushedelmiä. Oli museoretkiä, lätkämatseja, illallisvieraita, treffejä ystävien kanssa, Disney on Ice-show, lastentapahtumia ja ystävänpäivä. Oli uintia ja saunomista, hyviä treenejä, kivoja tanssitunteja, luistelun opettelua, arkiruokia kuten lihapullia ja pottumuusia ja askartelua, lukemista & leikkimistä eli ihan tavallista arkea. Ei hullumpi kuukausi!
I´m so so excited about March and the Spring arriving but February was a good month too. Here are some photos from my phone.
In February we ate a lot of treats as there were so many celebrations like Runeberg´s Day, Shrove Tuesday and Valentine´s day but we also ate green smoothies, Quark with honey & berries and tried out things like colourful cauliflowers. The month was also filled with tulips in different colours. There were new clothes daddy brought from the states, a fun night watching Disney on Ice and the new hobby of ice-skating.
On Shrove Tuesday we had a friend come over for some traditional pea soup and instead of baking sweet buns we bought a ready made one… actually a bun cake! Then there was Valentine´s day with presents and cute heart shaped crafts ( the mice are made from three different heart shaped bits) and yummy breakfast of waffles. It was also a month of fun colours in new pants and delicious citrus fruits.

Cashmere and loafers

Vaatekaappiini kurkkaamalla voi tehdä yhden johtopäätöksen. En oikein osaa sanoa ei kasmir neuleille, enkä myöskään Todsin loafereille. Niitä löytyy molempia sekä neutraaleissa väreissä, kuten beigenä, harmaana, pehmeän valkoisena ja tummansinisenä, että iloisissa väreissä kuten turkoosina, oranssina, sinisenä, korallin pinkkinä ja vaalenapunaisena. Mielestäni arkisena asuna loaferit ( ehdottomasti ilman sukkaa) ja pehmoinen neule yhdistettynä simppeleihin housuihin tai jopa oikean malliseen hameeseen, ovat täydellinen asu. Sporttinen, mutta samalla kuitenkin elegantti yhdistelmä. Neuleen alle voi toki pukea kauluspaidan, mutta ihan simppeli t-paita tai toppikin riittää. Asua voi ilahduttaa yksinkertaisilla koruilla. Tämä neule ja loaferit yhdistelmä on mielestäni vastustamaton myös miehillä!
Looking at my closet anyone could tell I have a soft spot for two things. Cashmere jumpers and cardigans and Tod´s loafers in different colours. But with a good basic pant ( or a skirt but be careful with the model to not look like an old lady) that is practically all one needs for spring and fall! Well maybe a white t-shirt or a shirt underneath. But there is just something about an outfit that is very relaxed and sporty all the while looking very pulled together and understatedly luxurious. Add a nice handbag and maybe a few pieces of jewellery and you are good to go. From Tod´s I love their classic Gommino driving shoe and always wear them without socks and rather with a slim pant that leaves a bit of the ankle showing. Penny loafers are a different thing and can be worn with argyles or such but these are the shoes for bare feet. I love men in loafers too! With a chino or such maybe a bit turned up and a casual cashmere pullover I find them (well mine) quite irresistible.
