Cookie jar

by Sofia   -   in DIY projects  Interior design

I always wanted to be the lady with the home made cookies in a jar. And then one day I grew up to be her…

Hot air balloon

by Sofia   -   in DIY projects

Here is a super easy craft for little hands. We made these one night as we needed a transportation for our little Maileg mice and bunny. This craft needs no explanation as you can easily see how it´s done. All you need is a paper cup or a paper ice-cream cup, 3 or 4 straws, a balloon and some tape. Just tape the straws on the cup and blow a balloon to attach on top. And there you go, your hot air balloon is ready. You have to admit that this is a fun, easy and affordable craft suitable even for the smaller kids.

If you want a super neat finish you could just attach the straws inside the cup. This would also be cute as a candy container in a party. Just make a few, fill them with candy or grapes and berries etc. and turn it in to a centrepiece or “a runner” for the table.

Bath bombs

by Sofia   -   in DIY projects

Ooh these are good! I sometimes feel funny sharing these DIY projects as I know I´m not really very crafty or bake superbly pretty cakes for that matter ( unless lopsided is good which I think it sometimes is). But the point here is, I guess, that if I can do it then you can too! I know a lot of people make beautiful crafts and amazing sugar fondant creations. Mine look funny compared to those. But I´m still not going to stop making things with kids or alone. And boy am I proud of all these little things we manage to create and blissfully aware that they are not perfect but still fun to make. Because if there is something I know I´m very good at it´s getting excited about the small things and doing those small things with my girls. And isn´t that the most important part?  I´m always happiest when the pre-school or nursery teachers tell me that our girls have a great ability to get enthusiastic about almost anything. I like to think there is that little part of me in them. And you know what? This was a project we all got very enthusiastic about. So get excited, get ready and start making bath bombs!
