The Nutcracker birthday
by Sofia - in Good things for kids Party planning
I love the Nutcracker ballet and it is a yearly tradition of ours to go see it but this year we just could not get it fitted in our agendas ( which was just as well as the day we were hoping we would go but had another engagement we turned out being in a stomach flu). Regardless we did have the theme in our minds a lot lately as we hosted Cotton Candy´s 8th birthday with it.
The lovely music was playing in the background and if it would have been up to me we would have had a huge Christmas tree as the party centrepiece. We served supper of jerusalem artichoke soup, fresh bread & butter, salad and a warm smoked salmon. Afterwards there were desserts. Ballerina gingerbread cookies, nougat, candy, macarons, marzipan, panettone & a pavlova wreath. The children also had vanilla ice-cream sundays with fudge sauce, whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Here are some photos from the party. All the guests got to take a small wooden Nutcracker ornament home with them.

Mermaid hair
by Sofia - in Good things for kids Shopping
We have a little mermaid living amongst us. Life is all about unicorns and mermaids at the moment. I´m pretty sure our family with an 8 year old girl is not the only one. I´m very happy that the things she likes are still so innocent and sweet. So I found the perfect little present for the girls bathroom for Christmas and thought I would hint to fellow mermaid lovers. She already got her birthday wish of a mermaid´s tail for swimming but these will look cute in our bathroom on top of apparently being the best smelling shampoo & conditioner in the world. The products are sulphate, paraben & cruelty free so probably also ok for their hair. Both girls have very long hair and we have been using this shampoo , conditioner & detangling spray that makes their hair silky smooth. But sometimes it´s nice to try something new. With all my honesty especially for the lovely packaging and for the important name on the bottle for the receiver. There is a chance mommy might want to borrow some…
Little mermaids also need to decorate their “mains” so pretty bows from Petite Olivia are most definitely the stocking stuffers or Christmas calendar treasures to get. This lovely shade is called vanilla.
Petite Olivian ihanat hiusrusetit tetenkin viimeistelevät merenneidon kampauksen. Mikäs sen täydellisempi joulukalenteriyllätys tai pieni lahja joulusukkaan!

Dear Santa,
by Sofia - in Good things for kids Shopping
I have a wish list for my girls. It´s very dreamy and I know you will bring a few of the things on it and some will just remain pretty dreams…
The brand new fragrance from Minois Paris would be lovely spritzed on curled hair when getting dressed for a festive event.
One little ballerina is getting a new ballet leotard and tights from Repetto but this long tulle dress would be dreamy with the rest.
We would love a new hairbrush and nothing would beat the Rolls Royce of brushes, the Maison Pearson in pink. The brand is available in Helsinki in Prologue.
This velvet cape. So unnecessary in Finland but oh so so dreamy.
The little Maileg ballet studio with a cat & a mouse will be in one of our parcels this Christmas. We got ours from Nona K.
