When I was in Paris I noticed a trend rearing it´s head for children and not only small children. Overalls are making a comeback! Bonpoint had the most adorable pair in a vintage rose/ blush pink colour ( that cost way more than I would ever pay for a child´s everyday pant, that is for sure) and we saw even bigger girls sporting OshKosh style overalls with white t-shirts, shabby ponytails and white Converses ( loved the look!!!). Corduroy pants were everywhere but I especially loved the overalls! So I was very happy when Sal & Pimenta asked me to choose something from their new collection and sent these cute ones over for Bubble Gum with this pretty blouse. She could not look any cuter! Cotton Candy chose this pretty pullover but I could not take a picture of it as she wanted to wear it to school immediately ( I guess it´s a good testimonial for the pullover). But it´s a very soft and comfy jumper.
And I´m loving their seasonal video so much again!
I´m having some technical issues getting my photos on the computer so I can´t share any of the posts I wanted to ( last Paris photos and more coming as soon as some of my electronics agree with me…).
But I wanted to still come by and say hi! I´m so extremely excited about the Fall and all the pretty foliage. I really enjoy the crisp but sunny days and the pretty colours! We have been burning candles and drinking our new caramel rooibos tea every night. In the mornings it´s already really cold when we leave to school and work. I have taken out my favourite scarfs and caps. We have updated the girls cardigans & hats for Fall & Winter too. Our favourites year after year are from Oscar & Valentine and I´ve gotten ours from Youngest Fashion. This Fall I bought this gorgeous cardigan I wish came in my size and the girls got the basic cashmere caps in dark navy and light pink. So soft! I fell in love with the hats, scarfs & mittens that have the little pom poms on them too. I wish I could justify buying multiple sets of cashmere caps and scarfs ( or afford to….)!
Last spring when I pulled some outfits together for children you asked me to do the same for adults alike. So now I finally have. I made it a tad easier for myself by getting all the photos and so all the pieces of clothing from one company online. They do deliver around the world, have reasonable prizes, great quality and styles I like. The thing here is, that no one probably buys all the key items again every year so when you have a great winter coat or a good trench coat ( I have had the same Burberry trench for 12 years now) you don´t need to invest in it again for some time. So these are just some ideas for great key pieces that you can mix and match to build outfits for the office and even some downtime.
I think investing in some quality shoes and a good handbag makes all the difference in an outfit. They do not have to be any specific brand but I would say you may want to choose leather instead of plastic ( do they call it pleather?). I would also keep in mind that natural fabrics tend to feel better on you, breath and keep you warm at the same time.
A good trench coat is a great investment. A midseason coat does not get more classic than that. I think a trench looks just as good on a dress or a skirt as it does on slim jeans or straight pants. You can wear it with wellingtons for a rainy day or with either ballerinas, loafers, heels or sneakers for a day off. It´s great with a shirt and with a pullover. So basically it goes with pretty much everything in your closet except your sweatpants.
A grey cashmere twinset with a pencil skirt and pretty blush ballerinas would be a great and simple office outfit. You could also wear it for tea with friends or for lunch with your grandmother. It´s a true classic and you can always opt for something else than pearls for a younger look. Although I love pearls!
