Ski outfits

by Sofia   -   in Good things for kids  Shopping

When we went skiing over the holidays and as the weather was not optimally sunny we realised our kids need brighter colours on the slopes to make spotting them easier. So I went looking for outfits with colour and warmth. I also asked you on Instagram for your preferred brands and many of you like Peak Performance, North Face and Reimatec for kids. We ended up with an “old” Italian brand that I used as a kid in the 80´s and 90´s and that our friends recommended, Colmar. But I will keep your  recommendations in my mind for the future. These are the outfits we ordered. I thought I might pair them with white Moon Boots for next year as my girls are always complaining how heavy their Sorrel´s are and how they want to go back to Moon Boots that they had as smaller kids. As I said earlier these were not on any major sale yet ( at -25% the bigger sizes were around 300€ each) but as we always need to buy two outfits even a little saving is nice. And by the way I did not necessarily want exactly the same ones for both but the other colour combo´s did not have their size left.

Winter outfit

by Sofia   -   in Good things for kids  Shopping

Have you been shopping the sales? I usually buy next year´s winter coats or ski outfits from the sales. We like fairly classic styles and nothing too trendy so they usually look almost or exactly the same year after year. I find that if you live in the North buying outdoor clothes for the winter is the biggest splurge but also the most important as you will want your children to be warm and dry. I do also buy pre-loved and for instance I have longer down jackets for the girls that were both bought pre-loved. I think this year´s regular down jacket´s that I bought last year on sale will still fit next year but I did buy both girls a new ski outfit for next year. No major sales yet but sizes were already running very low on most places. At least in our family where my kids are the same size and we have to buy everything in double even a smaller discount adds up.

On top of the ski-ing outfits we ordered I splurged a little at the Bonpoint sale this January but that is all I´m buying. I got Bubble Gum a very cute and versatile Liberty print dress that can be worn as a party dress but also to school. On colder days we love to pair skirts and dresses with the woollen Condor stockings and my girls also use their woollen sock with pants and love them.

Vanity Fair

by Sofia   -   in Shopping

I have been wanting to read Vanity Fair for a while now and I think I most definitely will have to put it up for another classic book vote at our book club as Four Corners Books has such a pretty perfect copy of the classic William Makepiece Thackeray. Or what do you think?

I love that these days a lot of books have really beautiful covers. They make reading even a little more enjoyable and having books by your bedside a great addition.

What are you reading at the moment? I just finished Joel Dicker´s The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair after Christmas ( I read it in two days as I just had to find out who was the actual culprit) and have now been reading a book from the 80´s, Rosamund Pilcher´s The Shell Seekers that I am absolutely loving. Neither of the books are very recent or on any hot topics at the moment but I can suggest both. They are both my book club books.

Have a wonderful day,

Lattemamma

p.s. The book is available on most online bookstores.
