Le Weekend
by Sofia - in Random
I´m pretty certain I just sat on a computer and wrote a Friday post yet here it is again. And what a lovely Friday it is. I promised to pick the girls up from school to go shopping for groceries for the pyjama party. There are things on their menu like burgers, fries and mint chocolate chip milkshakes and I am just going with the flow. I even promised to turn their room in to a giant tent and make them waffles for breakfast. Going all out on the good mama front on this one. I´m basically just saying yes to everything ( except for making slime).
But most of all I´m extremely excited about going to see Giselle in the opera ballet tonight. Watching ballet is one of those things that truly makes my soul shine. Even listening to the orchestra tune their instruments while people get seated is my happy place. Ballet is one of those experiences for me that transforms me. It takes me someplace else. Above and beyond. My plan is to see as many productions this year as possible. And I am truly lucky I have a friend with mutual interest to share the experience with.

I wish you have the loveliest weekend! I have my coffee cup in one hand and will start looking through the baby shower photos now…

Dress coat
by Sofia - in Good things for kids Shopping
Do you buy a so called dress coat separately for Spring? My favourites are the kind that go perfectly with dresses & skirts for celebrations but also to be used around town or when travelling to city holidays with pants as a little dressier coat. Here are some that I was looking at from the Spring collections.
This Arrieta coat form La Coqueta is a favourite. We had it in red for a long time but I really like this pink one with a pretty floral lining. The shape and length makes it a perfect coat for dresses.
Marie Chantal Children has this pretty tweed coat that looks very elegant.
A shorter coat would also look cute with a skirt or a dress but it is a bit more difficult as it has to match the outfits style better. This one is from Janie & Jack.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was pretty much perfect from time spent with friends and with family to great food and fun activities ( movies, bowling, party hosting etc.). Not a single thing to complain about. So it´s a great starting point to a new week filled with work and hopefully some exercise.
At some point of the year I always start to count the weeks to the opening of our country house. And now is definitely the time. I am so excited about it as always! Perhaps eight to ten weeks to go. And this year we have the brad new floors there too. Finally white! I can´t wait!
I´m pretty sure soon we will really start to smell the Spring in the air. It is imminent. I love the changes in the seasons. The turning points. The anticipation for the change and the little things leading to it. Just like planning a vacation it´s very exciting to build up to the moment and the enjoy it when it arrives. And the seasonal foods, clothes, holidays, plans. Easter is one of my favourites with the lamb and chocolate eggs and pretty colours. It holds some of my favourite childhood memories. The kind I can still smell and taste and remember very vividly. Painting easter eggs at my godmothers house. The decorated pussy willow and going around our neighbourhood with friends exchanging them for sweets. The school Easter mass where we sang the hymns we had been learning from the top of our lungs. I think at about this time of year we also started rehearsing for the ballet´s spring recitals learning new exciting dances and routines making classes even more exciting.
