Here is a bunch of photos from Cotton Candy´s 4th birthday party. She requested a ballerina party theme and I tried to make it as pink and magical as I could because I knew it would make her day very special…
All the little guests had a macaron on their place. They were placed under glass domes and topped off with cute star picks from miss Etoile.
I hung silk paper pompoms and lanterns from the ceiling. I´ve bought these from Bonton in Paris. The silk paper cup cakes are Miss Etoile´s.
I bought 20 meters of tulle from a fabric store to use on the table and sweet scape. That pretty decoration with pearls and such is from Flamant a few years back.
I found many different kinds of paper straws online at Happy Monday, they have the best selection! These straw flags are also Miss Etoile´s found at Bonton in Paris.
Hyacinths are perfectly pink and girly and the scent is divine. The little star fairy lights are from The White Company (sold out unfortunately).
Bottles of fairy dust as a party favor for the little girls.
The gum balls and rock candy we found in New York at Dylan´s candy bar.
Chocolate cake pops and Cotton candy that I put on the cute straws.
I covered the chocolate cake cake pops in white chocolate and topped them off with pink sprinkles.
The Ballerina cake topper is actually a Christmas decoration. I used a little birthday candle holder (and some fondant as glue) to attach her on the cake.
The cake had an pink ombre effect (gradually changing the darker pink shade of the bottom to lighter towards the top of the cake). I made a vanilla and princess flavored cake that I topped off with Sweetapolita´s whipped vanilla frosting and some edible glitter. Unfortunately my pictures are horribly lit and don´t really show off the cake nicely. It turned out very pretty even in my own opinion.
Macaronsit olivat Ekbergiltä.
Hattaran juhlapäivinä tuntuu aina olevan hämärää… harmillisen pimeitä kuvia siis.
There was obviously some coffee and tea for adults and the children had a pale pink Cotton Candy flavored drink. (This one)
The birthday girl wore a tiara from Tartine & Chocolat and a gorgeous dress by Tutu Du Monde. The dress was my original inspiration for the party.
My baby girl made a wish and I bet it was a sweet one!
The cake was pink inside with a layer of white whipped vanilla frosting and a thin layer of Tiptree´s little scarlet strawberry jam.
Little miss Bubble Gum wore her sisters ballet outfit for the party. And a tiara of course!
I had spread out some ballet books and pencils, paper and ballerina stencils for the girls to play with.
I originally had planned on a children’s ballet teacher to hold a short dance lesson for the girls but she had to cancel and could not find a substitute. She was very kind to give me instruction on how to guide the girls through a snowflake dance, but as I put on the music no instruction were needed. The girls all danced their hearts out.
I dressed up to the occasion as well and my little girls were thrilled. They said it was my nicest outfit to date. Hmm… (note the tiny tiara I borrowed from them)
My brother designed the invitation based on a scanned drawing by Cotton Candy herself. It´s her friends and herself dancing ballet. She is the one in the middle.
I hope you liked our little ballerina party. We only had a few little girls over, but I think next year for the big 5 years she will be able to handle more friends. In the afternoon we still had all the family and godparents over with their children. It was a fun day filled with pirouettes and laughter!
Toivottavasti viihdyit juhlissa!
