Rauhallista joulua!

Wishing you a very merry Christmas! We are on the plain headed towards one of my all time favourite cities in the world to join the rest of our family in Paris. I have spent many Christmases there and it´s just such a lovely city at this time of the year. We will enjoy strolling down the streets and the girls are looking forward to a breakfast of pain au chocolat and saying bonjour and merci to anyone who is willing to listen.  A fancy dinner in a restaurant for the Christmas eve and a cozy dinner at my parents place for Christmas day. Maybe a carrousel ride for the girls in a beautifully lit park or a turn on the inside ice-skating ring at the gorgeous Grand Palais ( they serve vin chaud for adults too!)  We will just take it slow and enjoy this time with the closest people in our lives. I hope you get to do that as well!

How sweet it is

Have you been indulging in the Christmas feeling this past weekend? I like to soak up everything even before the actual day. This year we are not having any of the traditional Finnish Christmas food on the actual Christmas day so we ate that for dinner on Saturday night. We also baked some Christmassy pastries with the girls and had them with some glögg for night tea in front of the fire place. Rice porridge made up our Sunday breakfast obviously sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. I truly love this time of the year. I´m not one to take stress about Christmas so for me it´s only enjoying the spirit. Those who we buy gifts to I usually find them way in advance ( I would like to think that gift buying is my forte) and wrapping them is actually one of my favourite parts. I come up with a theme and then wrap everything accordingly while sipping some mulled wine and listening to Christmas carols.

One of my favourite Christmas commercials is always the Tiffany & Co. one. Last year´s was so lovely and this years is cute too ( and it´s animated). You can see it one their web site. Here is an other old one and this one is very pretty too. I love the style, the music, the way even the children are dressed and the interiors on their commercials and there is always a light and classic feeling to them.

Hyvää viikonloppua

Suloista viikonloppua! Valitettavasti kiire ja joulunaikaan liittyvät menot ovat syöneet aikaa blogin kirjoittamiselta tällä viikolla. Muutaman lastenhuoneen jouluisen kuvan myötä siis vain hyvän viikonlopun toivotukset. Ehkäpä näemme sunnuntaina Tuomaan markkinoiden lasten musiikkiesityksessä. Meillä olisi haaveissa ehtiä sinne tyttöjen kanssa.
