Oh so soft!
by Sofia - in Good things for kids Shopping
I´m having some technical issues getting my photos on the computer so I can´t share any of the posts I wanted to ( last Paris photos and more coming as soon as some of my electronics agree with me…).
But I wanted to still come by and say hi! I´m so extremely excited about the Fall and all the pretty foliage. I really enjoy the crisp but sunny days and the pretty colours! We have been burning candles and drinking our new caramel rooibos tea every night. In the mornings it´s already really cold when we leave to school and work. I have taken out my favourite scarfs and caps. We have updated the girls cardigans & hats for Fall & Winter too. Our favourites year after year are from Oscar & Valentine and I´ve gotten ours from Youngest Fashion. This Fall I bought this gorgeous cardigan I wish came in my size and the girls got the basic cashmere caps in dark navy and light pink. So soft! I fell in love with the hats, scarfs & mittens that have the little pom poms on them too. I wish I could justify buying multiple sets of cashmere caps and scarfs ( or afford to….)!

Merci Paris
by Sofia - in Good things for kids
Oh Paris you were wonderful as always. I asked Cotton Candy her highlights of the trip. She enjoyed many parts of it but these were some things she loved the most. I will share some more photos and my thoughts soon but here are her favourites…
Going out in pj´s and cardigans in the night to get Nutella crêpes from across the street form our house. ( I would like to add for the record that she was in her pyjamas not me).
Going to the old school Damman tea shop in Marais at Place des Vosges ( where they have tin jars of tea all the way up to the ceilings) to taste and smell their wonderful teas. She chose a caramel-toffee rooibos tea for her sister and herself as a night tea and they chose a Christmas tea with her grandmother to drink after Christmas dinner.

… is always a good idea
by Sofia - in Good things for kids
I´m wondering if you have read my blog so long that you might remember these posts about Cotton Candy´s first trip to Paris? Well the flights are booked and accommodations are sorted ( we found a very fresh looking air´bnb on a quaint street at our favourite arrondisement) so I can start counting the days until I´m back in my favourite city in Europe. I know one is not supposed to play favourites, especially as there are such wonderful places like London, Hamburg, Milan and Stockholm to rival it ( just to name a few others on my list) but I have to admit that Paris holds some kind of charm over me. It has marked itself in my soul with a permanent marker. It has been too long, way too long since my last visit as they have been bi-annual for as long as I can remember but could it be that now it has been almost 2 years? I´m physically aching to go!
When I was a child we used to travel abroad as a family twice a year, once at winter time and once at summer time. Then my mom would take me and my brother separately on weekend trips to European cities, like Paris. It always felt special in a different way to be just the two of us. And it was very special to be the one left at home too as we got to do things with just daddy. I remember ( even though my dad has always been the one cooking in our house, not my mom) that it often involved a trip to Carrol´s ( there was no Mc Donald´s close to us) for hamburgers or something else we did not use to do otherwise. Spending time with just one parent was different for us as we grew up in a household of two kids and both parents. It´s a wonderful thing to get one parent´s attention all to yourself once in a while and I have decided to continue with this great arrangement with my own children.
