Skinny Jeans

The girls are not very fond of pants or jeans really but I do love kids in them. It´s funny how my Instagram friends were admiring my kids always wearing skirts or pretty dresses as theirs only want to be in pants. And I told them that I wish mine would wear them more eagerly. So I decided to try and went to look for jeans that they might like and found these cute ones. I wanted to share them as they are super comfortable and stretchy and the model looks cute on a bit thinner legs too. It also has a rubber band in the mid section to tighten up around the waist. But most of all I really liked the happy colours they came in. Bubble Gum got the yellow ones and Cotton Candy the pretty light blue. These are not really jeans, they are called skinny twill trousers, but they look like coloured jeans to me and are very very cute with just a t-shirt and a cardigan ( those cable knits for example) or with a floral shirt or a pique shirt ( a polo).

Cable knit

Last week I shared one wardrobe staple we always seem to have in every size, the cotton jersey dress from Petit Bateau. Here is another piece of clothing we have found so useful that we have actually had them in rotation since the size of 6 months. I kept the first one so I remember! It was turquoise with a yellow pony and I loved it! It´s the cable knit cardigan from Ralph Lauren. We have had them ever since in various colours. At the moment the girls have them in red and pink. Then there is the pullover too that is lovely but my girls prefer cardigans if they get to choose so we have those for now. And on top of the cotton ones you can find these in cashmere too. Delicious! But the cotton ones are the ones we have in constant rotation and love. Besides they are also one of those things that can stand infinite washing. And these come in such fantastic colours there is something for everyone.

A white shirt

Minulta toivotaan usein juttuja liittyen omaan tyyliini ja olen vähän kasaillut nyt tämän aihepiirin kirjoituksia teille. Kirjoittelin teille aiheesta oma tyylini jo kauan sitten, mutta itse asukuvia en oikein ole osannut sen kummemmin ottaa ( onhan niitä toki nähty täällä muutamaan otteeseen, mutta hyvin harvakseltaan). Aloitetaan ihan ensimmäiseksi nyt vaatekappaleesta joka on löytynyt kaapistani jo kymmenen vuoden ajan. Olen tietenkin ostanut uuden version samaisesta vaatteesta useamman kerran. Kyseessä on täydellinen valkoinen kauluspaita. Omani olen läytänyt Brooks Brothersilta. Mielestäni tärkeintä on löytää paita joka istuu hyvin omalle vartalotyypille ja sen jälkeen vain pitää huoli, että se on aina puhtaan valkoinen ja rypytön.
If I think of one item I use the most in my wardrobe and what defines my style it is a white button down shirt. I don´t know what that tells you about me ( probably it makes you think I´m boring) but I know what I would like it to tell about me to the people I encounter. For me it is the epitome of a classic timeless piece of clothing. I would like to think it makes me look fresh and put together. Effortless yet chic. Not too girly or too preppy but still feminine and smart.
I always wear my shirt with at least one button undone and I slightly lift the collars too. If I wear a necklace with a pendant it comes out nicely like this.
The white shirt does need to be clean and ironed though! At least I like mine very crispy and with the collars just a bit lifted. A white shirt looks good with basically everything in my wardrobe from jeans to skirts, from jodhpurs to a long ballgown skirt. Really! I can wear it with a navy blazer with golden buttons or a leather biker jacket. I can dress it up and dress it down and it always looks like the right thing to wear. And if you like jewellery it really is a great canvas and brings out the best in anything you wear from pearls or diamonds to enamel bracelets or statement earrings. And watches too!
