Baby it´s cold outside

I have a little sale hint for you. If you remember, I wrote about some super soft cashmere I bought for the girls last fall. They now have all the leftover stock -20 % at Youngest Fashion. The girls have been wearing those leggings and cardigans ( Bubble Gum has her sister´s old ones) a lot lately as it´s been pretty cold out here. When it was -25 °c our girls had those cashmere outfits and then their warmer winter overalls from Ver De Terre and they were actually very warm when we got home from playing outside for a while. Cotton Candy also has a pair of their merino woollen leggings to wear under her snowsuit in pre-school and has been very warm now. Bubble Gum wears yet again her sisters old merino bodysuit. Poor kid always has hand me downs. But lucky for her she has a bigger sister. I have a brother and trust me, I remember having to wear his old, boy´s long johns ( yes with the front thingie). Seriously mom! Anyway, the merino wool leggings are fantastic too. And made in Finland!

The girls wear warmer hats than these in the photo but I took this while they were in pre-school with said hats. For cold weather shoes they wear Moon Boots. Super warm and dry!

Christmas style

Do you like to get dressed up for Christmas? I love choosing an outfit. For the longest time I have been looking for the perfect bauble skirt for myself. I love the classic Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta style but often the bauble skirts on the market are just too short for my liking ( they look great on killer legs!). But finally I found mine! They had two very different fabrics that I loved so I ended up getting both. As I have a wedding to attend to in January I decided to debut the other one for that and bought a pair of statement earrings to match. The other skirt has this amazing very dark, almost black, navy blue base colour with gorgeous big flowers that  look like they were painted on it. It´s not necessarily something I would normally turn to but for some reason it spoke to me. Somehow it reminded me of the lovely floral fabric dresses and skirts one of my style icons Aerin Lauder often seems to wear. So this skirt gets to be part of my Christmas outfit. The other skirt  has very fresh light & emerald green, white and navy stripes on it and will be absolutely gorgeous with a crispy white shirt. The good part of a bauble skirt is that on top of looking good with high heels it also looks very lovely with ballerina flats. Which is always a good thing especially if you tend to dance in to the morning or want to wear it for a dressier lunch on the town or other daytime function. I´m very tall so I often feel a bit too dressed up in heels in the middle of the day as I tend to be towering above most people. This does not bother me at night time events at all.

Swimwear

Tiedän, että uimapuvut eivät ehkä ole ihan ajankohtaisia, mutta ajattelin, että ehkäpä tästä vinkistä olisi jollekin silti iloa koska moni suuntaa joulun jälkeen tropiikkiin lomailemaan. Olemme ostaneet Condorin sukkiksia ja sukkia tytöille jo pitkään La Coquetasta koska ne ovat mielestäni aivan suvereeneja laadultaan, istuvuudeltaan ja kestävyydeltään. Kiitos Pitsinauhaa blogin Jaanan Instagrammin huomasin, että heidän omat nettisivut toimittavat sukkia kaikissa malleissa ja väreissä sekä paljon muutakin kuten uimapukuja. Pidän näiden mallista ihan hirmuisesti. Tuo sporttinen leikkaus selässä auttaa siihen, että uikkari pysyy hyvin paikoillaan ja olkaimia ei tarvitse nostella vähän väliä. Itse olisin valinnut väreistä tummansinisen ja vaaleansinisen, mutta tytöt toivoivat turkoosia ja pinkkiä. Värit ovat ihanan kirkkaat ja sopivat täydellisesti eksoottiseen ilmastoon turkoosin taivaan ja palmujen alle.

Before leaving on our holiday I ordered the girls new swimsuits. I found that Condor ( my favourite company for socks and tights) has an online store with a huge variety for not only socks but clothes too and they deliver to Finland. Thank you for the hint goes to the always lovely Pitsinauhaa blog ( or her Instagram really)! So I noticed that they have very simple swimsuits on the website. The sporty racerback model is so handy with little kids as they don´t just float or tan they actually play around in their swimsuits all the time. This model ensures that the suit stays in place and you don´t have to keep lifting the straps all the time. If it were up to me I think the baby blue and navy colours looked best but Cotton Candy chose her favourite turquoise and Bubble Gum her signature colour bubble gum pink. The colours are very bright and pretty. Our girls are almost the same size so I ordered both a size 6 and it´s only a little bit big on Bubble Gum who is 4 ( and average weight and height) so for Finns I recommend ordering one size up ( except obviously for smaller sized kids like our Cotton Candy). All in all a big recommendation for these! ( Also the prize tag and the fact these came delivered in our home in one week was a bonus). For next size I think I´m going to buy the navy and baby blue ones with matching caps.  Oh and the pretty cotton cardigans for next summer!
