Mitäs meinasit tehdä viikonloppuna? Miten olisi uintia, jätskiä ja paljaita varpaita? Me olemme karanneet saareen. Olen onnellinen.
Tässä vielä linkit viikonlopun iloksi…
Here are some links for weekend reads…
We made these last summer too. They are just perfect for a summery snack or as dessert after a barbecue.
This would be a fun craft for kids now that it´s the season for sunglasses.
I ordered these super cute rompers for the girls. I feared that the time for rompers was over as the girls have grown so much bigger, but these come up to 6 yrs. Hurray for rompers! They are the cutest thing ever… well maybe after bloomers! ( And they were delivered to our door in 3 days free of charge.) Can´t wait to have the girls wear them with sandals.
Looking for funky boys clothes? Check this web shop out. Cool clothes, accessories, shoes ( Superga´s, my favorites!) etc. just for boys. Well why not for the girls too if you ask me. And they deliver all over the world too.
Tuesday was a very warm day in Helsinki and at night when I was putting the girls to bed it started raining hard. We opened their window and smelled the summer rain scent you only get in the cities, the kind that is mixed with asphalt. ( I love the smell of the rain anywhere but it can just be so different, like it is depending on the season.) Little sleepy girls in their pj´s their heads popping just above the window ceil all drowsy but excited about something so simple but yet so magical. Oh how happy I was at that moment. I had to stop and just take a deep breath for I felt so blessed to live right there right then. When I had tucked them back in their beds and went to sleep listening to the rain outside our window I thought of this. And I do.
If you want to get in to the mood of coastal summer houses then you might want to check out my “island living inspiration”-board on Pinterest. If you are new to my blog we spend the summers ( as much as possible) on an island in the Finnish archipelago. Until very recently there was not even running water. We spend our days climbing on the rocks, dipping in the sea and in the evenings we heat the wooden sauna and sit on the terrace that gets all the beautiful evening sun. We buy our groceries on a shop boat, eat a lot of fish with new potatoes and barbecued meat with summery salads. If it rains or gets windy ( as it often does) we put on our rain gear and watch the waves hitting the rocks and then light a fire in the fireplace after. My favorite thing is going to the sauna ( and swimming) in really bad weather. I call it the storm sauna, nothing better people trust me. We have bushes full of wild blueberries everywhere and eat them with milk and a pinch of sugar for breakfast. Nothing is fancy or just so ( and I would´t want it to be) but we have views over open sea and I love love love it there (well actually here, we took a boat ride out of the city and are in this bliss right now)!
Have a happy weekend!
Ihanaa viikonloppua! Ja muistakaas ottaa osaa Lifefactory-kilpailuun…
