Ninni ja Nestori aamupalalla

Olen useaan otteeseen kirjoittanut yhdestä lapsuuteni suosikki kirjasarjaista, Ninnistä ja Nestorista, blogiin. Kun huomasin, että Petit Jour oli tehnyt sarjan hamoista astioita oli ne pakko saada, vaikka tyttömme eivät nyt ehkä virallisesti enää tarvitsekaan lasten astioita. Kouluikäiset kun syövät jo samoista astiosta ja samoilla ruokailuvälineillä kuin muukin perhe. Mutta nämä ovat kyllä niin mielettömän suloiset tyttöjenkin mielestä. Ne sopivat hyvin aamupala, välipala ja iltapala astioiksi meille ja ne menevät hyvin yhteen valkoisten posliinien kanssa vaikka ovatkin melamiinia. Voin hyvin kuvitella, että tuo muki ja lautanen löytävät tiensä välipalaleivän ja juoman kanssa läksyjä tekevän koululaisen kirjoituspöydälle ja kulhoon päätyy varmasti puuron ja jugurtin lisäksi välillä viipaloituja hedelmiä,marjoja tai viinirypäleitä naposteltavaksi tai namipäivän namit telkkarin ääreen. Pienenä tytöillä oli Petit Jourin Petteri Kani ja Jemima Ankka astiat joita he tykkäävät vieläkin käyttää säännöllisesti juurikin näillä aterioilla. Astiat eivät ole menneet kahdeksan- ja kuuden vuoden aikana miksikään jatkuvasta konepesusta huolimatta. Ehkäpä näistäkin Ninni ja Nestori astioista syö joskus lounastaan omat lapsenlapset. Nämä aion hankkia myös uudelle kummitytölleni sitten joulu- tai yksivuotislahjaksi kun hän siirtyy kiinteisiin ruokiin.

So a funny thing happened! I left for the island on Friday very happily and on the boat on our way here ( it’s about a 45 minute boat ride out from the mainland after driving in a car first…) I suddenly remembered that I forgot the pouches containing both girls undies & socks on their bed. Luckily we had a few bikini bottoms so we’ve managed by handwashing every night. But I also forgot my camera & my computer. ( this sentence calls for the monkey covering it’s eyes emoticon) Suffice to say I really needed this vacation. So we will be coming back to the city a bit earlier. But luckily a lot of island time in store this summer anyway so no biggie.
I have been taking in all the peace & quiet. And all the stripes! And I have been updating the Instagram stories frequently too.

Have a lovely June

I have had a little strange last few weeks. But luckily things are looking up now in a very positive way. My summer holiday starts on Friday which I must say I´ m looking very much forward to. First thing I will head out to the island with the family and just be. Enjoy the birds singing and the waves crashing and the wind howling. I will dip myself to the sea and I will count my blessings in tenfold. I will breath in and I will breath out. I can not wait. I will also take some time to compose a few posts for you! You are not forgotten! So this will not remain a space where I post a picture of flowers once a week. I have my camera full of photos but no time to edit them. So for now, for the end of this week I will be absent from here but not from Instagram ( did you see my new armoire?).
But for now I will say I hope your June will be amazing and relaxing. I hope it will be filled with moments to remember. And I hope you will be here to leave me your sweet comments even if you are on holiday as they do cheer me up!
