Fall shopping
by Sofia - in Random
I wanted to share a few things I got this Fall. As you know by now I am more of ” a take good care of your belongings and walk in 15-20 year old clothes” kind of girl. I often buy for life so to speak. So also my Fall shopping has been very much in line with that. I did also buy a few books as they are my downfall always and forever. But then again I have not often regretted a book I bought.
The Classic Beadnel by Barbour has been on my shopping list for years and this Fall it felt like it was high time to just go and buy it. I also got the hood for it so it can sort of be my colder days raincoat at the same time. I have been using it non stop and I feel like it goes with almost anything I have even if it´s very casual and sporty. My husband might get worried I´ll start to resemble Her Majesty the Queen but I think that I can still make pearls and twinsets and wax jackets look not so dated. Embrace them I say, embrace them. And as a matter of fact he loved the jacket so we are safe.

Today I am lingering over on last weekend. Knowing it´s a new week but somehow unwilling to let go. For no other reason than that it was so exciting and relaxing at the same time. Somehow just a perfect little weekend to hang on to.
I went for a long walk this morning with a friend. The weather was so indecisive. It rained, then the sun was shining, gusts of wind that almost blew us over and then the sun was warm on our backs again. Such beauty in the foliage turning red and orange. When the rays of sun land on those piles of leaves or sieve through the trees I always feel so very happy. I love our Monday morning walks when we briskly move through our city talking of nothing and everything. It´s almost therapeutic. Listening too. It´s the best start for a week to get some fresh air and movement. I have a pilates class on Monday nights so a run or the gym always feels a little much. But a long power walk to start the week is perfect.
As you may have already noticed I came here without anything to say really, just airing my thoughts that seem sparse and slow today but somehow like that weather on my walk. Like lovely golden rays of sun landing happily on the ground with a soft mist around them.
I hope you have a lovely day!

p.s. I have trouble loading my own pictures from the camera on the blog. So you get phone photos for now.

You knew I was going to be here rambling on about pumpkins and the beauty of the colour changing foliage. And so I am! Hello September, nice to have you here! I have made my first pumpkin spice latte this morning and even my kids wanted their own ( decafs) for the ride to school ( and my husband ended up taking two kids take away cups to the office to be washed, but we all need to make sacrifices for the greater good that is enthusiasm over Fall…).
So the season is upon us and we have so many fun plans for this Fall. A road trip to a Finnish city where one child will partake in a competition, but we have turned it in to a whole family affair and weekend getaway. Then there are the kids birthday parties, a big girls weekend for a 40th and a big girls weekend for a crayfish party. Oh and my dear friends doctorate party that is a white tie event. Very excited about that ( I even bought a new evening gown) and happy for all her very hard work to come to a conclusion. Oh and then there is that little thing I have been waiting for for around two years. We have booked our tickets to my darling Paris for Cotton Candy´s 12th birthday. She could not be more excited! And I can tell you neither could I. My mom is coming with us and we have made all sorts of wonderful plans. Nowadays everything is always a little unsure but I have decided not to worry and just enjoy the planning and if it all gets postponed then so be it. Because part of the fun of travelling is the anticipation. And I for one love planning trips.
I will admit I am also excited for those normal days in between all this hassle. For the cooler evenings when we can light up the fireplace and cooking my family some Fall dishes.
But for now I will leave you with some Fall inspiration pictures to get you in to the mood too if you were not already…
