Midsummer nights´s dream

Pian on aika juhannustaikojen. Me pakkaamme autoon kukkamekkomme ja seljankukka-ruusujuomamme ja suuntaamme auton kohti ystävien kesäpaikkaa Suomen saaristossa. Tyttöjen saunavuoron päätteksi istumme aina saunan terassilla katsellen merelle ja jutustellen rauhallisesti. Jos meri on tyyni ja aurinko hellii meitä, mietin josko kesäillat voivat sellaisista hetkistä enää muuttua paremmiksi. Toisaalta onko mikään tunne niin ihana kuin juosta saunasta mereen uimaan kun lämmin kesäsade pirstaloi meren pintaa. Tai kun saa käydä nukkumaan sateen ropistessa kattoon rauhoittavassa rytmissään. Syömme perinteisesti mansikka-kermakakkua ihanan ystävän syntymäpäivän kunniaksi. Kun aikuisia on 12 ja lapsia kaikilla 2 niin voitte arvata, että myös vilinää ja vilskettä riittää. Mutta onko sen parempaa kuin viettää juhannusta rakkaiden ystäviensä kanssa ja samalla luoda perinteitä omille lapsilleen. Tämä on 10. juhannus jonka vietämme yhdessä ja vanhimille lapsille jo seitsemäs. Rakastan näitä perinteitä!
Ihanaa juhannusta jo näin hieman etukäteen! Jään nyt pienelle lomalle ja palaan tänne ensi viikolla ♥ .

Happy thoughts

Did you have a good week? I feel like I have done nothing but worked worked worked this week and I´m really looking forward to a midsummer break ( and the looming Summer vacation on the island!).
But work is not an unhappy thought! Last Friday I had some time off in London for a night so I got to visit my dear friend´s incredibly gorgeous home. Her pantry ( amongst many other things in that house) is a happy thought. It was gorgeous and I´m so dreaming of having one too. Lucky friend! I´m also very thankful for having found new friends as an adult. I love all my friends and those you have had your whole life are obviously very important as you share a lot of history and there is a reason they are still your friends ( like love and the fact they are the most awesome people in the whole wide world) but the ones I have found later in life share many interests and a similar taste & style with me. All kinds of friends are very important and a constant happy thought to me in my life!
A friend got a little birthday present from me ( she loves organising maybe even more than I do if that´s possible). I love wrapping presents ( as you know). These wrapping papers, the gift & the card are from Riffle Paper Co. and the ribbon is from a very special ribbon shop in Singapore.

Girls island style

Yesterday I shared my island style pieces and today I thought you might want to see what the girls use on the island. Our closets look very similar when it comes to colour. Navy blue & white with plenty of stripes.
The classic raincoat in yellow for both of the girls this year.
Wellies are in use almost every day.
Our favourite t-shirts. Buy at least one size up for the perfect slim but not too tight fit.
Shorts to wear with t-shirts or the marinier jumpers. For some reason the girls hate fancier shorts worn with stockings or knee highs but these casual sporty shorts they love. We have had a pair from Ralph Lauren every year and love the fit.
